Reaching the World...

Church was awesome yesterday! I learned a lot about the diversity of our city. Did you know that there are 91 countries (not including the US) that are represented in our city?! I probably couldn't even name 91 countries! Ninety-One! That is amazing to me! I can remember as a little girl, our churches always talking about missions and how we would have missionaries come and speak on mission Sunday. I can also remember how boring I always thought it was. BUT I can assure you, yesterday by all means was far from being boring! Yesterday changed the way I felt about missions. We don't have to go to a foreign country to reach the world. All we have to do is step outside! All I have to do is go to work! All you have to do is drive down the street! NVMC is going to reach the world through our city and we mean it when we say "we're a Church for people like you!"

The Quotes alone....

Church was awesome today! It's only the 3rd week of the Mentality Series and it has helped me so much! I mean the quotes alone could help anybody!

Week 1 - You can’t change what you don't acknowledge!
Week 2 - 70 Days of Ridiculous Miracles AND Tomorrow about this time, something's gonna change!
Week 3 - It's in the grapes, dummy! AND God is not in the problem, He's in the PROMISE!!!!

Its amazing how one thing in a message can change your whole outlook. Something to the effect of "Believe in your miracle even though you can't see where it's coming from" I have always been this logical thinking person. I can usually see or at least picture how I think God is going to bring someone out of a mess. Where I have trouble in my mind is when I CAN'T see or at least picture a way out. Well not anymore! HELLO Kelley, what's the definition of miracle?!
Because of this sermon series, I am changing the way I think! It's not easy but it will get easier as long as I "diligently seek him!" My eyes AND thoughts are on my promise!

Here's a 1st for Me

Wednesday Night Recap!

Wednesday night service was awesome!!! That's something you don't hear very often about a mid week service! NVMC is ready for our 70 day of ridiculous miracles!
It had been such a good day, all day everyone was "twittering" about how excited we were for church! That in itself is exciting!
During church there was just an excitement in the air. (can I use the work "excite" one more time?!) We heard some of the miracles that have already happened! I can't wait to hear and TELL all the rest!

After church we had church on Twitter!

Tomorrow about this time, Something's gonna change!

I have trouble spelling words like ridiculous with out spell check!

Coincidence? oh I think NOT

Just making sure we remember what we're learning @ NVMC.tv....This is from TODAY's Grace for the Moment. With these thoughts from Mr. Lucado he always gives a scripture reference; TODAY's - Proverbs 23:7! Um, have we heard that somewhere before???

To listen to our vocabulary you’d think we are the victims of our thoughts. “Don’t talk to me,” we say. “I’m in a bad mood.” As if a mood were a place to which we were assigned (“I can’t call you. I’m in Bosnia.”) rather than an emotion we permit.
Or we say, “Don’t mess with her. She has a bad disposition.” Is a disposition something we “have”? Like a cold or the flu? Are we the victims of the emotional bacteria of the season? Or do we have a choice?
Paul says we do: “We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ” (2 Cor. 10:5).
Do you hear some battlefield jargon in that passage—“capture every thought,” “make it give up” and “obey Christ”? You get the impression that we are the soldiers and the thoughts are the enemies. Our assignment is to protect the boat and refuse entrance to trashy thoughts. The minute they appear…we go into action. “This heart belongs to God,” we declare, “and you aren’t getting on board.”

Looking forward to ridiculous miracles!!

NV was awesome yesterday! Every week when my friends that come for second service walk in, I almost can’t wait to tell them what they are in store for. Yesterday was the same, I was so excited after the 1st service, I just told them, "You’re in for a treat!" The funny thing is that the second service, even though it’s the same, it’s always different! And yesterday was no exception! I am so excited about the next 70 days! I feel like a kid on December 1st! The anticipation of what God is going to do is just so great!!! I can’t wait to hear about all the miracles! I can’t wait to tell all about mine! It’s gonna be RIDICULOUS!

As I was saying our declaration yesterday before giving, I couldn’t help but think: I wish the CEO of the company that I work for new how much God blesses this company JUST because people like me tithe. There are a lot of people @ NV that work for different large companies across town – They have no idea how blessed they are going to be JUST because of the ridiculous miracles we are going to see. Seems to me they are blessed just by association!
