Weekend Snipits

Apparently Friday night was uneventful because I can't remember what I did...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday was fun. Went to D&D's for dinner. Dad bought Christopher a party sub from Subway - the boy LOVES him some Subway!!! After dinner most of us went out to Kart Kuntry. I haven't been there in years - Forgot how fun it can be! Neil likes to clip people on the side in hopes that he gets kicked off the ride - and he also gets a kick out of watching people spin out. He got my sister and nephew but not me!!! But that's probably because every time I rode, I had a child with me (he calls me a wuss, I say, I'm pretty smart!!)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday, Jason Crabb was at church. It was awesome as usual. After church we went to the Ichi - I love some sushi!!! Then to the pool - I fell asleep and the back of my legs got burnt! Sitting at my desk today is not going to be fun!
Sunday night Coney, apparently thought he was competing in Iron Chef America - Battle: Rabbit, as he brought in yet ANOTHER rabbit, but this time it was just the head! UGH!! Hopefully some of the other rabbits got away and are now telling their friends not to come to my yard!

Work day Count down to vacation - FIVE!!!!

YUCK!

I have this shrub in my front yard, after some Googling, I'm pretty sure it's a Mugho Pine evergreen. Last week, I noticed some nasty yellow worms on this shrub. After some Googling, a big book on bugs (brought to work by my manager) and asking a lady at work that has a degree in Entomology, I found out that these worms are actually red-headed (go figure!) saw fly larvae that will eventually become saw flies! YUCK! So I got me some kill the bugs spray at my local Tahrzhey and sprayed down my entire front yard and all the landscaping!

Not Giving Up

Are you close to quitting? Please don’t do it. Are you discouraged as a parent? Hang in there. Are you weary of doing good? Do just a little more. Are you pessimistic about your job? Roll up your sleeves and go at it again. No communication in your marriage? Give it one more shot…
Remember, a finisher is not one with no wounds or weariness. Quite the contrary, he, like the boxer, is scarred and bloody. Mother Teresa is credited with saying, “God didn’t call us to be successful, just faithful.” The fighter, like our Master, is pierced and full of pain. He, like Paul, may even be bound and beaten. But he remains.
The Land of Promise, says Jesus, awaits those who endure. It is not just for those who make the victory laps or drink champagne. No sir. The Land of Promise is for those who simply remain to the end.

I read this today and it really helped me. Sometime I have those days (weeks) where I feel like What's the use, but then I read things like this and know that God is telling me "Don't give up" OK Lord, I'm listening....

Weekend Bliss!

This weekend has been very relaxing and lazy! Is was so needed since the last couple of weeks have been so busy at work. I laid around the pool, went to some cookouts and watched fireworks at two places. My friends go all out for some fireworks! They are big kids! I'm just glad showed Big Mike how to fix a mortar up! He was putting them in upside down! FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!!

Happy Birthday Christopher!

Today is my nephew, Christopher's 13th birthday! Thirteen! I can't believe he's that old. (and I can't believe I just said that, making me sound even older!) When he was younger, I lived with him and my sister. It was so fun watching him grow up. When I would come home from work, he would meet me at the door with his "Hulk" mullet and his sippy cup and say "JUICE?!". He used to giggle at me when I would come in to change his diaper and dry heave the whole time! He called my Ka-yey cause he couldn't say Kelley.
I'm so proud to be his aunt! He made the honor roll all year and got perfect attendance! He won several awards this school year and he's in the choir! He's almost as tall as my dad and wears about a size 13 shoe!! I love him so much! Happy Birthday Christopher!!!

My poor dog

It's not even the 4th yet and here in the county, people like to celebrate for o, say, about, 2 weeks! So Coney has been barking constantly, hiding under the bed and hiding his face in my arm pit! Needless to say, he does not like to celebrate the birth of our nation! I'm gonna have to leave him home this weekend and try to drown out the noise with either the TV or radio!
