Birthdays

Tonight I went to my cousin Nicole's daughter's 3rd birthday party. It was at McDonald's. Big props to my cousin Nicole, she has 2 kids and BOTH birthdays are RIGHT after Christmas - like within a week! She's had several people tell her that Autumn looks like me. Well at least I know that if I ever do have kids, they'll be cute! :)

Murry Chrismas

well it's Christmas morning and I just put the turkey in the oven. I'm having my sister (and her family), my anut and uncle, and my two cousins (and family) over for Christmas lunch. This is the second year I've had Christmas at my house, I guess I'm making up for all the years I didn't have a house! :) but it's ok cause I don't mind. The only thing is that I miss Christmas breakfast at Leslie's Dads :(
I gave Coney his Christmas stocking. I think he liked it. and the best part of the day of course is the non stop playing of A Christmas Story!!!! My ALL time favorite Christmas movie! OHHHHHH FUUUUDGE!!!!

This Song

I heard this song yesterday for the first time. You know how sometimes you hear a song and it's pretty much exactly how you feel? Me too!!!

How long will my prayers seem unanswered?
Is there still faith in me to reach the end?
I'm feeling doubt I'm losing faith
But giving up would cost me everything
So I'll stand in the pain and silence
And I'll speak to the dark night

I believe in the sun even when it's not shining
I believe in love even when I don't feel it
And I believe in God even when He is silent
And I, I believe

Though I can't see my story's ending
That doesn't mean the dark night has no end
It's only here that I find faith
And learn to trust the One who writes my days
So I'll stand in the pain and silence
And I'll speak to the dark night

I believe in the sun even when it's not shining
I believe in love even when I don't feel it
And I believe in God even when He is silent
And I, I believe
No dark can consume Light
No death greater than this life
We are not forgotten
Hope is found when we say
Even when He is silent

I believe in the sun even when it's not shining
I believe in love even when I don't feel it
And I believe in God even when He is silent
And I, I believe

A letter to Pastor Josh

Dear Pastor Josh,
I write this letter with mixed emotions. On one hand I am so happy for you and this opportunity that God has presented to you. I know that the church that is getting you is right now the luckiest church on the planet. They have no idea what's in store for them and just how awesome their new Youth Pastor is going to be. Then on the other hand, I am very sad to see you go! You are truly what a Youth Pastor should be.
Thank you for being who you are and being real with our teens. Thank you for teaching us other youth leaders how to be a youth leader. Thank you for giving two of my closest friends an opportunity to see what they can do for Christ. Thank you for "wooing" me out from under my family's wings and making me think about what I want to do for the Lord.
I know for you this must be a bitter sweet goodbye but I trust the Lord and I also know "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Love in Christ (how corney is that!)
Kelley

This weekend has been another busy one! Got most of my Christmas shopping done despite the frightful weather. Coney got his picture with Santa. I think I may have heard him tell Santa that he needed a new computer chair. Good Boy!

My Chair and My Nose

Let me tell you a little about my computer chair. As you can see from the pictures, it's broken. How did it get that way you ask? Well, today, I'm sitting in my chair, working on my family Christmas DVD and my phone rings. I answer and it's my friend Leslie. We start talking about this and that and I get comfortable, Coney's on my lap, I lean back and CRASH! I go to the floor, Coney lands on my nose, he jumps up and I start laughing! But not a loud laugh, you know one of those laughs where you are just breathing laughing because the WHOLE time, Leslie is STILL talking! She has no idea until I just bust out and she's all like, "what?" and by then I'm laughing so hard that I can't even tell her! and she's on the other line laughing, but not really knowing what she's laughing about because she can't understand a word I'm saying! So now look back at the pictures and picture me in them! Just so you know the arm rests were already cracked! My nose still hurts!
Dear Santa,
I need a new computer chair for Christmas!

Day Two

More meetings today - three of them to be exact. I guess you just don't realize how much fuel UPS uses! Did I mention I was working with the Fuel Accounting group? I did find out that I will have to do a wee bit of traveling early next year for some training - either Houston or Omaha. I guess either would be fine with me. I like to go places I've never been.
I really need to Christmas shop!

First Day

Today was my first official day on my new job. Got a new cube by a new window, down a new isle, with a new phone number, and a new (to me) laptop! So the laptop could be a good and bad thing - Good thing, because well, it's a laptop! bad thing - I may have to take work home! Got thrown right in the fire - had a 2 hour meeting, where things like MIPS, RIGHT ANGLE, SAFARI, GL, accrue, fuel tickets, BOL and stock transfer were said. Don't worry, I have no idea how they all fit together either!

I got my IPHONE Friday! WOOHOO! Now I just need to call Sprint and see when my contract is up and decide if I want to pay the 150 beans to break it. Decisions. Decisions.

Merry Heavenly-Father-mas!

WOOHOO the Weekend!!!

This weekend is gonna be fun filled! Not only am I going to the Christmas Flea Market to get some Christmas shopping done, and also having a girls Christmas party with my family but I will also be celebrating a very special anniversary with some very special people. Knowing Randy & Debbie Boggs (Pastor Randy & Momma Boggs as some like to call them) truly has been a blessing. I’ve known them all my life so I pretty much consider them my second set of parents. They were there for me during the most difficult time in my life, which was many years ago but I will never forget that! I can remember spending most of my summers over at their house and they always had the best UL/UK game parties. Our parents used to play Rook (shhh, don’t tell the other COG preachers!) and stick us kids down in the basement to entertain ourselves! Me and Christy had our share of good times and got in our share of trouble too! My favorite Debbie quote is “Chrrrristy, you girls be quiet, your daddy’s asleep!” My mom and Randy sang together along with some others, I think they were dubbed the “Randy Dandy Trio”! And if you can EVER be in a Sunday school or any other type class that Debbie teaches – DO IT!

These days, being married for 40 years is a great accomplishment. I commend them for their commitment to each other and I know that they are as in love today as they were 40 years ago! Way to go Randy and Debbie! Happy 40th wedding anniversary! I love you!

Courage

Tonight one of our teen ladies from Radiate shared her awesome testimony of how God brought her out of an eating disorder. It took alot of courage to get up on stage and share all the stuff she did. I think she did a great job, she had all the right words! One thing that stuck in my head was "If you want God to help you get out of a situation, it takes a backbone and not a wishbone!" WHEW!!! YOU Go on girl!!! Now that's some good stuff!
After her testimony, it was like the doors just opened and everyone that had something they were dealing with just prayed until they got their breakthrough! I think a lot of our teens were able to let go of some stuff tonight! Thank you Jesus!

I'm an Elf

I just think this is so funny!
I got Elfed!

NV Christmas party

Last night was our annual Christmas party. It was my very first one and I must say NV knows how to have a party! The food was de-LISH & the comedian was super funny! Every ministry that did a basket - they did an awesome job! I'm pretty upset at the ticket drawers, but I have forgiven you and will keep you in my prayers!
I really wanted to take more pictures so I'm gonna need everyone to dress up again Sunday so I can get a picture of you, OK?
Two circle fingers up to Christy for setting up the pastor! Good Times.

This has been a very busy day! Church was so awesome, as usual! Bing rocked out today leading us into worship! If you thought that was great, that's how we roll every Wednesday in Radiate!
After church I went shopping with Dana for the Choir basket! We got all kinds of great stuff for our "Christmas Dinner for Four" basket. Make sure you bid on it! I think we did a good job if I do say so myself. Dana is lots of fun, but is not so good at driving carts! :) Much love for ya Dana!
Then after that this evening, I went to Maggie's birthday party. It was at a place called Pump it Up. The place is full of inflatable bouncers - Maggie calls them "bounceolines". Now I don't have any kids but I had to get on them to make sure they were safe! Yeah, I'm gonna be hurtin tomorrow! That obstacle slide ain't no joke! I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids!

Some people go through life only having one true close friend, well I've been blessed to have FOUR of them and today I got to spend time with three of them, which doesn't happen very often!
My four closest friends are absolutely the greatest people! The are all funny and fun to be around! They are wonderful wives and mothers. I love each one of them and I am so thankful that I have them!
