Justice is served!

So I’m creeping along in traffic today as I normally do and the car in front of me, the car that is not an emergency vehicle of any kind, decides to move over to the left hand emergency lane and drive on up to avoid all the traffic and "cut line". I shake my head in disgust, but keep my composure. As traffic seems to give and we all just speed up a little, I notice that non emergency car that was in front of me still on the left hand side of the road, only he wasn’t alone! There behind him was a REAL emergency vehicle – that’s right folks, the Po-Po done pulled him over! HA!!! Sweet Justice!!!! Doesn’t he know that “Line jumping is not a spectators sport here on the Watterson in Looavul”?!

Home Sweet Home

Well I'm home from OK! Should have been home last night but my flight was delayed in OK because of de-icing in TN so I missed my connecting flight in Mephis to Looavul. I was pretty upset about that but soon realized there was nothing I could do about it. The airline (which will remain nameless but it's initials are NWA and I will never use again) was "nice" enough to put me up in a hotel in Memphis with dinner and breakfast vouchers. But the best part of that was that when I got to my room I found out that the hotel had TBN! Now normally I don't watch TBN but last night was the night they were showing Pastors Curtis and Charmaine singing with Jason Crabb and I thought I was going to miss it, but I didn't! I even saw some fellow NVMCers in the audience so that was pretty cool!
That aside, I had a pretty good trip. I got to see some pretty cool stuff in OK. I still wish I would've had someone with me but oh well.... Now for those that don't know me, when I go on a trip anywhere, I like to see the weird stuff, I'm talking about the off beat stuff you don't hear about all the time and that's exactly what I did in OK. So with that said, in OK I saw an Oil Driller, a Big Blue Whale, the World's Largest Totem pole, and the World's Largest Praying Hands. You'll have to check my pics out on MySpace! I tried my best to find the Center of the Universe but couldn't. I figured that wasn't too much of a loss since I am the center of mine! :)

Ok in OK

well I'm OK in OK. it's cold just like home. They freak out with ice on the road just like home. Downtown Tulsa is all one way streets, just like home. Get the picture?!
You would think in a $140 a night hotel they'd give you free high speed Internet and at least a Continental breakfast!? You'd think!

Pants

So I just read a comment that my aunt left on a blog I wrote - She did leave it on the wrong one. (:D) But I knew which blog she was responding to and I was like wow,let me read that again - so I was reading the blog again and something struck me as being pretty funny! In my blog I wrote "I was the girl that didn't wear pants" It's funny to me because apparently when I was writing, I was assuming my audience was all COG people! They would understand the reference - anyone else would probably think that when I was a little girl, I ran around with no pants on, which actually might be quite possible!

Started packing last night for my big trip - Hopefully I'll learn all I never wanted to learn about Fuel Accounting software!

Wake the Day

So tonight we ROCKED OUT!!! Besides seeing all the new changes to Ground Zero and seeing probably more than 130 students, we heard an awesome message from Pastor AND heard an awesome band called Wake the Day! They did our Praise and Worship and rocked out after service! I'm getting ready to sound really old here but here goes - It was so cool to hear them and I know the lead singer, well I know his parents! (here comes the old part) I remember when he was born! Oh no did I just say that!? Oh well, it happens! I may sound old but I don't feel it! LOVED the music can't wait to hear the CD, might even go hear them play at Headliners! They ROCK, check them out!

To IPhone or not to IPhone

I found out that I will not get my UPS discount on my phone plan if I activate the IPhone. For me that would double my cell phone bill. Is it worth it? Seriously, I want to know. Tell me your your iPhone stories good and bad. Details people - I know you can get on the Internet, listen to music, watch videos, sync to outlook, send email - tell me something I don't know....

Embracing My Diversity

Church was awesome today! The message really hit home! When I was a little girl, I was different - I was the girl that didn't wear pants, I was the girl that didn't have her ears pierced, I was the girl that always went to church. So when I got older, I didn't want to be different. I wanted to be just like everyone else so I made sure that I was and you know what - I almost lost who I was! I almost lost the very thing that made me different! Today's message really made me realize that I am different and no matter what I can't change that, it's who I am, it's the "tribe" that I come from. So I need to embrace it. I need to not care what non Christian people think about me. I need to not worry about what they think when I tell them what I believe. I just need to be me!
Thank you Lord for making me different.
Shabach, Halleluja! Blessed be the rock, shabach!

Stop & Listen

On the way to work this morning I was listening to the radio as I do every morning and I heard a song. Now I’ve heard this song a hundred times I’d say in the last year because the radio station plays it all the time. But today was the first time I actually heard what it was saying. It was almost like God was speaking to me through the song. I remember something Pastor said a few weeks ago in his sermon about the Christmas Story – that God spoke to the Wise men through the stars because they were astrologers and he knew that’s the way they would understand it. Sometimes I guess I just need to stop singing along and listen to the words!

Comfortable, don't get comfortable.
I am gonna' move this mountain then I'm gonna move you in.

Yesterday, this is not yesterday.
You were standing on my shoulders now; you're standing on the edge.
You've been looking for a sign all this time.

I am gonna show you what I mean
I am gonna love like you've never seen
You are gonna live like you used to dream
This is your new song

So afraid but you don't have to be afraid
Even if you make mistakes
You know that I'll remain
You've been looking for a sign all this time.
If you seek you'll find me every time.

Can you feel the call of love?
Is it moving you to be a child of God of love?
Is it reaching you?
It's everywhere the call of love.

I just want to show you what I mean
I just want to love like you've never seen
Do you want to live like you used to dream?
Then I've got a song for you

Cuz I am gonna show you what I mean
I am gonna' love like you've never seen
You are gonna live like you used to dream
This is your new song

You've got a NEW SONG

Wonderment

Church was awesome today! For a while now I haven't been blogging about church on Sunday because all I could say was "Church was awesome today!" But it was and it is so please forgive me when I can't find the words to express that "Church was awesome today"
As I was listening to Pastor talk about all the things that God had accomplished through NVMC this year I was in awe! It's truly amazing to me that I am a part of this great thing that God is doing and is going to do in this city! When Pastor talked about all the family friendly things we're going to have in our new facility I thought, "we gonna have our own Gatti Land!" NVMC Land! A land for people like you! :) sorry, I know that was a bit corny.
But seriously, I do stand in amazement at all the lives that God has saved this past year and I am thankful everyday that I was there to see it! Can you just not wait until next year's State of the Church address?!

January 2nd Firsts

Even though yesterday was the 2nd of January, it was a day of firsts. First day back to work for me - UGH! and last night was the 1st Radiate service with out Pastor Josh. To be honest, I was actually wondering how it was going to be, you know, like if it was going to seem weird and it did, but it turned out to be a great service! Our youth band (known as Toxic) rocked last night! We missed Bing, but since he was helping in "Big Church", they stepped up and did a fantastic job!!! I am amazed every time I look up there and see our teens singing and playing music! Gives me goose bumps! Pastor David came over and talked with our teens and kept it real. He's good at that. We also had two teens get saved last night! What a great way to start the new year! We have a great bunch of teens and they deserve the very best so that's what we're going to do - give them and GET them the very best!
It's going to be a great year! Happy Two O Eight (that's Don Doby for 2008!)

Happy New Year

Well the new year is here. I guess I could sit here and write down all my new years resolutions, but then that would just tell you everything that's wrong with me, right? And you don't want to know all that do you? The funny thing is that you probably have the same resolutions I have.
